Sex, Drugs & Porn: Oil Spill Watchers Busted at Interior Department

Sharp criticism is racking up against the Obama administration and their almost non-existent role in the BP Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Beyond the eight day response to the spill, the government has tried to turn an environmental disaster into a political issue, rather than working with the affected states. The Obama regime has been successful at vilifying the oil industry, as well as placing blame - hardly the type of leadership you'd expect from the federal government, but understandable from an immature and inexperienced administration.

As it turns out, one of the government agencies involved, the Minerals Management Service, which oversees offshore drilling and is part of the Interior Department led by the detestable and incompetent Ken Salazar, has been focusing their attention elsewhere. A report released today by Mary Kendall, acting inspector general for the Interior Department, reveals that Minerals Management Service (MMS) employees have been viewing porn on government computers, and some even admitted to using meth.

Problems at the MMS date back some time, where previous reports revealed extremely close relationships with oil companies - many personal friendships of employees dated back to their childhoods. Other reports indicate that MMS employees received gifts, took drugs, and had sex with energy company representatives. This sounds like the perfect job!

Just this month, amid the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, MMS regulators in the region allowed industry officials to fill in their inspection reports in pencil, then turned them over to regulators, who traced over them in pen before turning them in.

While BP is at fault for the oil spill, they are at least taking responsibility and trying to fix the problem. Today, BP is using a top kill method to cap the oil spill. But its clear that there are extreme problems at the government agency that oversees offshore drilling.

And what is the Obama administration's solution? Replace and rename MMS with three new bureaucracies! Because that's what we need - more government!
