A Colombian beauty queen and onetime lingerie model has been arrested in Argentina on charges of leading a drug trafficking ring that allegedly used young models to carry cocaine, the BBC reports.

Angie Sanclemente Valencia, 31, was arrested at a youth hostel in the Argentine capital after evading police for five months.

The Times of London reports that authorities determined she was in Argentina from photographs she posted from Buenos Aires on her Facebook page.

Valencia denies charges that she recruited others to transport cocaine to Europe via Cancun in an alleged smuggling outfit dubbed "Charlie's Angels."

"She is no drug trafficker, nor is she the queen of cocaine," her mother, Jeannette Valencia, said after the arrest, The Times of London says. "There are bad intentions — a plot against her. She will prove her innocence."

An arrest warrant was issued for Valencia after a 21-year-old model was busted with more than 100 pounds of cocaine.

Valencia, who won the title of Coffee Queen in Colombia in 2000, was called the "Narco Queen" by the Argentine press and was linked romantically to a brutal drug boss in Mexico.
