Ruchika was a budding tennis player
A court in India's Chandigarh city has increased the jail term of a former senior police officer convicted for molesting a 14-year-old girl.
SPS Rathore has been ordered to spend 18 months in jail. A court earlier passed down a six month sentence.
In January the court found him guilty of molesting Ruchika Girhotra in 1990.
She committed suicide three years later after she and her family were subject to a harassment campaign. There was public outrage over the first sentence.
Ruchika's family and activists said he has got away with a "very light punishment".
