Swiss Company Markets Condoms For Kids

A Swiss contraception company is offering smaller "tween-sized" condoms for boys as young as 14-years-old.

The controversial condom has garnered plenty of criticism, but the company maintains the move is aimed at stemming the growing epidemic of pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases among kids.

Officials with Ceylor told ABC News the company was approached by a local AIDS awareness organization and agreed to manufacture the smaller condom.

Last year, a 13-year-old girl became the youngest mother in Switzerland, according to a company spokesman.

The father was a 14-year-old boy who said he used a condom, but it fell off.

Critics say the device will only encourage children to have sex at a younger age.

Those in favor say teens are not going to stop having sex, so they might as well have the option to be safe about it.

The company has no plans to market the new product in the United States.
