Woman faces charges for sex with boy

A Bethlehem woman charged with having sex with a 15-year-old boy will face the charges in Northampton County Court.

Jennifer A. Barbarics, 32, of 1103 Wood St. admitted to police she had sex with the boy in her car on at least four occasions. She told the boy she hated her husband and her life and wanted to be with him, according to court records.

Barbarics was held for court after a preliminary hearing this afternoon before District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro. The charges against Barbarics include statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor. She is free on $25,000 bail.

Police said the sexual contact happened in various locations in December. Investigators became aware of the case when the boy's mother contacted police in March and said her son admitted to having sex with Barbarics.

The boy had told Barbarics that he had a crush on her, according to the court records.
