An elderly Brazilian priest was caught on camera in a sex act with a choirboy.
84-year-old Luiz Marques Barbosa has been arrested and put in detention for 30 days to stop him fleeing, reports the AFP news agency.
A Brazilian television station last month showed video footage of the ageing priest receiving oral sex from a choirboy in front of a church altar.
"As Father Barbosa was chaplain for Sao Paulo's military police, he has the privilege of being detained in our barracks instead of going to jail," a police spokesman from the town of Arapiraca told the agency.
The video featuring Barbosa was recently shown to a parliamentary commission into paedophilia in the region.
Globo TV news reported that Barbosa asked for forgiveness from the commission before sating "I am not a paedophile."
